Experience In Every Line

This is my Grandmother. She has 6 children, 4 girls and 2 boys, one of which is my mother.

Her husband, my grandfather, died years ago of cancer. He fled south from North Korea to escape being drafted into the army, leaving his wife and children behind, with the intention of going back to get them. He could not know that the border would be sealed off and that he would never see or hear from them again. He met my grandmother in the south and began a new life.

She is a stroke victim and no longer has the use of her left arm. In a way, she died the day she had the stroke because she is no longer the same person that she was. Even though the stroke happened some time ago, it is still sad when I think about it. You miss the person that they were.

We still love her of course, in fact we made a choice not to put her into any care home, she stays with our family and we all pitch in. The woman with her in the picture is my Aunt, who primarily takes care of her.

We love you grandmother, and hope that you will be with us for many more years to come.
