Little Tree On The Prairie 2

Photography Highlights

Random Favourites

An assortment of beautiful art of all my favorites and collections. These works are pleasing to look at, inspiring and are wonderful references to learn from.

Reference Lighting and Contrast

A collection of wonderful lighting on the human figure, lovely photography that accentuate the form and is a wonderful reference source for artists to study how light forms over the body.

Reference Poses

Beautiful works by talented artists, these are a collection of poses that really caught my eye.

Reference People

A collection of faces, attitudes, 'looks' that I was drawn to and inspired by.

Illustrations

Breath taking illustrations from talented Deviants. These works inspire me to become a better artist and increase my skill and craftsmanship.

Photomanipulations

Photo-manipulation is a unique and versatile art form, you can go from abstract to realistic and everything in between. The difficulty with this art form is to create a balanced, appealing cohesion that the viewer can accept. These are a collection of artists and their work that I feel are superbly done.

Journal Entry: Fri Jul 10, 2009, 9:00 PM
I hit 5k views, it only took 5 years. LOL

P.S. All you who didn't fill out the survey are BORING :tears: But I still love you, only slightly less.

P.P.S. I have a new skin that I am messing around with, and I had something I was wondering. Do you all get bombarded with a new entry every time I edit? I ask because I have had people's journals spam up and I think to myself "How obnoxious..." But now I am wondering if that might be the cause. Please let me know, thanks ;)

Fight my brute if you DARE! [link]

I am working on a new series of tribute pieces in collaboration with some wonderful models. I have started on one already, and I hate it lol, so it may take a little longer to put out than I had hoped. I am going to keep who/what the tribute pieces are until I submit my first one.

My Take

I saw Terminator Salvation on sunday. The movie was decent. There are some weak points in the plot but over all it's a watch-able film. One thing I thought they did well was add in an element of why it is John Connor who needs to lead the resistance, at least in my opinion it does. I am not trying to get to specific as I don't want to spoil it for anyone. The special effects were great, the designs of the various machines were well done. I think they did a good job in making the terminators feel relentless and deadly... though why is it they always walk on the parts where the situation is tense, yet they are running around all over the place in other situations. I understand that they are trying to create a tense, dramatic moment, but I like a little consistency.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I give the movie :star: :star: :star:

Movie Review: Star Trek

Now this is a must see movie. I will be honest, I had no desire to see this movie. I never see any of the Star Trek movies, I don't have anything against them, I don't know it's a little weird to watch 'TV to movie' movies, though I did think Serenity was a great movie, but I didn't know about the TV show at the time. Anyway off point. I started to hear all this buzz about Star Trek, friends telling me it's suppose to be really good, how it's breaking records etc etc. A friend of mine wanted to go see it, so I figured why the hell not. After seeing it, my thoughts are that this is pretty much a perfect movie. The acting was well done, the plot (though not perfect) was fun and interesting. The banter/dialogue of the film was superb (My favorite aspect of the movie). I thought the weakest part of the movie were the villains, they weren't horrible, but definitely the weak point in a very strong film. Granted that they don't get the screen time that the others do, and you only have so much movie to work with. I think the Humor in the film was spot on, its was just the right amount at the right moments. It wasn't campy, stupid humor like the first transformers movie had. The humor actually worked to advance the film. The cast was well chosen and the director did a phenomenal job. Most of the time when I watch a movie I think about what I could of done better, how I could have improved it (I want to work in the film industry). But this movie is better than any Star Trek movie i would have envisioned, I would have went an entirely different road (probably more serious and epic) but it would have been an inferior movie.

I give this movie :star: :star: :star: :star: :star-half:
